Daphne Williams, a family physician in Toronto and busy mom of three teenagers looked to AyA kitchens for her kitchen renovation. The house, in a great uptown neighbourhood, went through a major transformation, including a two storey addition onto the back of the house as well as a new third floor. The family moved out of their home to undergo the renovation which took several months to complete as it was completely gutted and redesigned. A large and functional kitchen was planned for the new expanded space, providing an ample island for the family to enjoy, a pantry area with generous storage and a hutch that cleverly conceals a feeding nook for the family’s beloved dog. Along with the kitchen, AyA also provided clever cabinet solutions for the family’s three bathrooms.

The spacious and open layout allowed for several "zones" within the kitchen; pantry and desk area, hutch area and cooking/ prep/ clean-up area including a sizable island with seating - surely enough room for a family with three kids to use comfortably. The large central island is the true core of this kitchen serving several duties along with ample space for a quick bite or a large spread for entertaining - all the while looking fabulous with a gleaming quartz countertop. The contemporary pairing of shaker door in a light Newport Glazed Latte with a dark rich Napa Clove Maple keeps things interesting, modern and fresh.
